Kitchen Remodel Cost in Fort Worth (2026): What We Actually Charge

The price question is usually the first one we get about kitchens, and it should be. This guide gives you the same numbers we quote in person in Fort Worth — our real working ranges, not national averages — and explains what moves a kitchen from one end of a range to the other. One honest note before the numbers: our kitchen ranges exclude appliance cost. You purchase the appliances you want; we install them. That keeps our quote about the work, not the brand of your refrigerator.

The Short Answer

  • Basic Kitchen Refresh: $20,000–$25,000 — the kitchen keeps its layout and gets new life: cabinet refacing or paint, new countertops, backsplash, hardware, and lighting.
  • Full Kitchen Remodel: $25,000–$50,000 — new cabinetry, new surfaces throughout, and layout changes when the room calls for them. Premium selections and layout moves push toward the top of the range.

Smaller, Defined Kitchen Scopes

Not every kitchen needs the full project, and we price the smaller scopes plainly too:

  • Countertops only: $4,000–$8,000
  • Cabinet reface (sand, repair, prep, prime, paint): $5,000–$8,000
  • All-new cabinetry: $10,000–$18,000 — countertops are extra, and here is why that matters below.
  • Backsplash: $2,000–$4,000 labor — tile is a passthrough: you pick it, you reimburse the actual tile cost, and we never mark it up.

The Scope-Dependency Rule (Read This Before You Budget)

Two dependencies catch homeowners off guard, so we say them up front. First: replacing the lower cabinets requires new countertops. Counters almost never survive removal from the boxes they sit on, and reusing them is a promise we will not make. Second: new countertops or new cabinets usually take the existing backsplash out with them. The backsplash is married to the counter line behind it. When we quote your kitchen, these dependencies are already in the number — no mid-project surprises.

What Moves the Number

Cabinets first: we build with J&K Cabinetry out of Dallas — prefab lines when the budget leads, or custom in any wood species when the design leads — and that choice moves the budget more than any other. Countertop material second: about 80% of our kitchens run quartz, with quartzite and granite splitting the rest, and the slab you fall in love with sets the line item. Layout third: moving the sink, the range, or a gas line means real plumbing and electrical work with inspections. And as with every remodel in an older Fort Worth home, if we open a wall and find something that needs fixing, we stop, show you photos, and price it in writing before any extra work begins.

How We Build It

Cabinetry through J&K Cabinetry in Dallas, prefab or full custom. Fixtures typically Delta or Moen. Appliances: you purchase, we install. Crews run Monday through Friday, 8am to 6:30pm, plus a couple of Saturdays a month when a schedule calls for it. Xavier walks projects daily and Chris reviews every project at least weekly, so nothing drifts quietly. Want the day-by-day picture? Here is what a kitchen remodel looks like week by week.

Payment, Quotes, and Paperwork

  • Projects under $60,000: 50% down, 50% at completion.
  • We accept check, Zelle, bank transfer, or cash; credit cards carry a 3% processing fee.
  • Quotes are good for 30 days.
  • Change orders are priced at cost plus 25%, in writing, before the work continues.
  • Permits are billed at cost and are not padded into the quote.

Fort Worth Specifics

We are a Fort Worth & Aledo city-registered building contractor (#RB026782 / #25-000007), insured. When your scope requires a permit — gas line moves and major electrical usually do — we coordinate it and plan the project around inspection steps. These ranges hold across our service area; if you are nearby, see our kitchen pages for Keller and Southlake.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the refresh and the full remodel?

The cabinets and the layout. A refresh keeps your cabinet boxes and layout and renews everything around them — faces, counters, backsplash, hardware, lighting. A full remodel replaces the cabinetry and opens the door to layout changes. The refresh vs. remodel guide walks through how we help you choose.

Can we keep our cabinets and just replace the countertops?

Yes — countertops-only is a defined $4,000–$8,000 scope. Plan on the backsplash coming out with the old counters in most cases; we will tell you at the walk-through whether yours can survive.

Why do new lower cabinets require new countertops?

Because counters rarely survive being lifted off their boxes — stone cracks, seams fail, and sink cutouts stop lining up. We would rather build the dependency into the quote than gamble your slab and hand you a change order.

Do you supply appliances?

No, and that is deliberate. You purchase the appliances you want at the price you can find; we handle the installation. Our ranges exclude appliance cost, so you are never paying a markup on a refrigerator.
